The residence

A residence with a royal spirit

Nine rooms and suites, a restaurant, five function rooms and a rooftop, in the quiet of a lively neighbourhood.

The idea

What we set out to build

Royal HNM is not a large hotel, and that is deliberate. Nine keys is the number that lets us receive each guest as an invited friend rather than a room number. Everything else follows: breakfast included with every stay, a reception desk that never closes, and suites named after those who inspire us.

History

A house become a residence

The project was born of a conviction: Cotonou deserved an address where elegance does not come at the price of distance — a place close to the centre, the port and the airport, yet quiet. The residence was thought through room by room around that idea, from the bedrooms to the five function rooms that host our guests' great occasions.

  1. The place

Akpakpa Sodjatinmè, a lively, well-connected neighbourhood away from the bustle of the centre.

  2. The approach

Soundproofed, air-conditioned rooms, sober materials, and a discreet gold running throughout.

  3. The opening

Nine rooms and suites, a restaurant, five function rooms and a rooftop terrace.

What matters to us

Four principles, no more

  • The welcome

Reception is open around the clock and the team knows every guest by name from day one. Arriving late is never a problem.

  • Generosity

Breakfast is included with every stay, parking is free, so is the Wi-Fi. What ought to go without saying, goes without saying.

  • Care in the detail

Chosen bedding, soundproofed rooms, daily housekeeping. Elegance owes less to décor than to consistency.

  • Belonging

The team comes from the neighbourhood, the kitchen celebrates West African cooking, and our suites carry names that speak to the continent.

The spaces

From the lobby to the rooftop

The residence unfolds over several floors: the function rooms and restaurant near the entrance, the rooms and suites above, and at the top the rooftop terrace, open to the roofs of Cotonou. The rooms are air-conditioned and insulated from the sounds of the city; the shared spaces keep to the same line — sober, warm, lifted by the gold of the house.

  • Soundproofed rooms
  • Air conditioning throughout
  • Rooftop terrace
  • Enclosed, guarded parking
